Open go karting events
Not enough drivers to book an exclusive event? Open events give you the chance to compete against other like minded drivers for as little as £50 per person (team of 5 in a Team 140 endurance). No experience necessary, we will show you exactly what to do.
Individual events
Arrive and Drive practice (individual). Ideal for novices and experienced karters. No minimum group size, up to 22 karts on track, 30 minute sessions, individual electronic lap time printouts and grid start upgrades available.
Challenge 30 (individual). A hair raising 30 minute challenge against the clock: a 5 minute practice, 10 minute qualifying heat and a 15 minute main event. Perfect for first timers and experienced karters, and possibly our most popular event. Up to 22 karts on track together.
Sprint 45 (individual). 45 minutes of full throttle action, great for groups wanting a real element of competition: a 5 minute practice, 10 minute qualifying heat and a 30 minute grid start final. Up to 22 karts on track together.
Ironman 60 (individual). Put your driving skill, nerve and stamina to the test in a full 60 minutes: a 5 minute practice, 10 minute qualifying and a 45 minute grid start final. Up to 22 karts on track together.
Team endurance
Team 70 (team). The first of our endurance formats: 70 minutes of race action from start to finish, with a 10 minute qualifying session and a 60 minute rolling start final, wrapped up with a podium finish. Recommended team size 2 to 3.
Team 105 (team). 105 minutes on track to truly test your abilities. Earn pole in a 15 minute qualifying session, then a 90 minute rolling start final and a podium finish. Recommended team size 3 to 4.
Team 140 (team). 140 minutes on the circuit including a full 20 minute practice session. This epic 2 hour race gives bragging rights to whoever crosses the line first. Recommended team size 4 to 5.
Monthly GP
Open Kart Racing Monthly GP (individual). Practice, 3 heats and a final. The ultimate individual test of skill and driver ability. Anyone can drive a fast lap, but are you good enough to overtake in these short, sharp and very quick races?
Race league
The Lakeside Karting Race League is a competitive championship for keen karters aged 14 and over, held once a month on the first Friday evening. It runs all year with a Winter Championship (October to March) and a Summer Championship (April to September). Each championship has 6 rounds with the best 5 counting, so a missed race or a poor score does not affect your position. There are 2 classes, standard and heavyweight. Expect quick fire back to back heats after a competitive qualifying session, then finals where the points really matter. All rounds count towards the Sodi World Finals points, and all drivers must be pre booked for each round. Live on track timing is at alpharacehub.com/lakeside/live.

Good to know
When should I arrive at the circuit?+
You will be given an arrival time when booking. For events this is 1 hour before your track time, for practice sessions 45 minutes beforehand. If you arrive after this time, even by 5 minutes, it may affect your time on the circuit. If you are more than 10 to 15 minutes late you may lose your slot altogether. If you are late you will not receive a refund under any circumstance.
Is there adequate car parking?+
Yes, there is plenty of free parking for all.
Do I need a driving licence or special licence to race?+
No. Many of our regular customers hold no licence at all. We provide full instruction, and all drivers must attend a safety briefing and view the National Karting Association safety video.
